Life is lonely between the lines.

On the day of his wedding, Arman, a closeted emigre from Iran, wrestles with what to tell his family back home. Lying to his mother, and hiding this lie from his husband-to-be, he struggles to understand how to move forward.

This film explores a small, discreet moment in time. It exists in a very specific context of contemporary Persian life. Nonetheless, the script has resonated with 1st generation immigrants from many backgrounds. The isolation of straddling two worlds, and the loneliness that comes with that, even when surrounded by people who want to support you, can be paralyzing.

We have assembled a team of queer artists and allies, dedicated to crafting a beautiful slice-of-life story that encourages understanding and empathy. The core creative team working on this project are AFI alumni, coming together to help a colleague in telling a very personal story. With the support of the community around us, we hope to make a work of art that will have a place in the history of queer, independent cinema, and will encourage conversations within the Persian community.

Even small moments matter. Sometimes, the smallest moments matter most.
